Born in Kashmir, the heaven on Earth, it was till I turned 19 and we were uprooted from our homeland due to militancy. Overnight Life changed and i was in a different city as a migrant with no support system, alien culture, harsh weather and an underprepared govt machinery to handle such large scale influx of migrants. Millions of people ended up in various parts of the country.  Life seemed so harsh and mind ready to give up the fight.

Education is treated like a religion in our community and first priority for all of us was to maintain continuity. Schools and Colleges were not ready to give out of turn admissions to so many of us.  After tremendous amount of struggle, protests in front of Govt offices and a precious year wasted, I was able to finish my graduation and postgraduation in marketing.

My education and my subsequent Jobs shaped my personality. Starting with a company which allowed me to travel extensively across the country and gave me a feel of diversity to an HR consulting company helping young professionals navigate their professional journeys.

Motherhood was the most beautiful phase of my life for next 10 years and it also prepared me for my next professional journey. Did my diplomas in Early Childhood and Child psychology at the age of 50..and since then it has been an amazing journey working with young children and parents.
