Commissioned in June of 1983 I am an Indian Army veteran of 35 years of regular service having experience in all types of terrain, operational roles and Command/Staff/instructional appointments all over India. Initially served with the elite Parachute Commando unit and after about three years shifted to regular Infantry. Along the way I had six field tenures in J&K/ NE and Island Territories of India. I have been commended five times by the Chief of Army Staff, four times by the Army Commanders/equivalent and awarded the prestigious Sena Medal for Distinguished Service as a Brigadier on the Line of Control. I have commanded three Sub Areas, overseeing all rear area logistic support aspects including Civil-Military liaison in the states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura.
Academically I have done BSc( Med), MSc Defence & Strategic Studies, MA Mass Communication and Journalism, MA Psychology and MPhil in International Affairs.
After superannuation I joined corporate world for two years plus looking after a large multi role organisation as their Chief of Staff. I was also Managing Director of a Consulting Company on agriculture cum rural development and environment related projects with central and state governments. It was a very welcome transition from the Olive Greens to the civil street!
Finally I have moved on with a mission to contribute my bit for the development of the society at large and family units/individuals in particular. Special areas of my focus and interest are teenagers, their parents and young professionals.
I am a qualified Parent Coach, Career Strategist, NLP Trainer, Leadership and Personal Development Mentor and an Organisational Climate & Conflict Resolution Expert.
